The Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry has exciting internship positions available to assist with the 2017 Melbourne Japanese Summer Festival, to be held on the 26th of February 2017. We are seeking interns with a strong interest in Japanese culture who are willing to assist us with social media and vendor communication. Candidates with strong social media and event planning experience will be strongly considered. The successful applicant will be required to work one day per week, until mid-March. This role would best suit someone studying media communications or event planning, however this is not essential. This role is unpaid.
To provide you with a brief overview of the event, the Japanese Summer Festival has consistently proven to be an authentic opportunity to connect various segments of the Melbournian population with Japanese culture in a relaxed, family-friendly and exciting environment. Currently in its eighth year, the event has previously succeeded in attracting over 20,000 attendees due to its diverse array of Japanese stalls, entertainment and activities concentrated in the riverside area surrounding Federation Square. This year’s Japanese Summer Festival Steering Committee is determined to build upon the success of past years by renewing its artistic focus. More information about this event can be found via the links below.
We firmly believe that your assistance in organising the Melbourne Japanese Summer Festival will contribute immensely to the success of our event. We greatly appreciate the work our previous interns have contributed to the festival, and look forward to making 2017 our greatest festival yet.
